Check Engine light on a 1997 150 Johnson Ficht

Initial start and the Check engine light comes on along with the horn. Engine does not however, go into S.L.O.W. After a short run down a small lake, I'll stop to fish. Start the engine and its fine. fish some more and I'll get the check engine light and horn again.

It all started a few trips ago while idling in the rain at the ramp waiting for my trailer.

I have replaced the water separator filter under the hood, put in new plugs (7712), tried a new system check guage, disconnected the tack,checked to see no ac current to the cracking battery whole the engine is running. The fuel ball doesn't get or stay hard, plus its hard initally starting.

Take it to a tech so they can pull the code, this will speed your fix. No wing nuts on the battery, clean and tight hex nuts only.
