Their air bubbles were going down. I wonder what they used to make themselves buoyant enough to walk upside down on the bottom of the ice.

Very easy. Filmed upside down. I didn't see any weightbelt meaning they would float no problem to be able to walk on the ice. The wheelbarrel would have had air in it already to keep pressure on the ice till they dumped it. Then a ballon full of sand or something to make it sink.
