wisconsin no cull and 3 fish limit

Guys- anyone who ever travels to wisconsin (or would like to in the future)- help is needed to get bills past to get rid of antiquated laws like no culling and 3 fish limits. please consider contacting people in the government following this link..

Here is the access portal to the Wisconsin Government Site

    http://www.wisconsin.gov/state....html

Once there you can look around or just use:
    For Senators
    http://legis.wisconsin.gov/w3a...enate
    For Assembly
    http://legis.wisconsin.gov/w3a...embly
The following are members of those committees that I think will be helpful. “*” ones are more likely to understand.

I personally like to send snail mail instead of just an email…….But then I’m old…..

Two issues are separate. First Is Culling being allowed. All the studies are done and it’s time to just pass culling. Economics are huge as well positive publicity.

Three fish limit should be brought up as a show of Bad faith by the DNR since they testified before the Assembly Committee on Natural Resources that it would only be used in extreme cases and wasn’t viewed as changing anything with tournaments

Re: wisconsin no cull and 3 fish limit (jjpatton)

    here is my letter..

    February 9, 2011

    Dear Sir:

I am writing to you to express my interest in Wisconsin changing the “no cull” policy for black bass tournaments as well as the 3 fish limit for summer tournaments. I live in Iowa but take several trips per year to Wisconsin to participate in or observe tournaments. I know from personal experience and from your own studies that the economic impact of tournaments is very large for local communities. Everyone in the community will benefit: most notably hotels, restaurants, convenience stores, outdoor stores, parks departments (launching or camping fees), and of course bars or taverns.
I fish in the Iowa B.A.S.S. Federation and we routinely have 1 or 2 state tourneys of out Prairie Du Chein. During those weeks I and 140 of my closest rivals will come up for 4-5 days, spending an average of $100 or more per day on lodging and amenities. I won’t bore you will overall numbers, as I am sure you are well aware of the great economic impact of tourneys like this. Our divisional championship was hosted by Wisconsin the last 2 years, but was forced to move to Escanaba, MI due to the no-culling rule. These 2 years brought approximately one million dollars to the local economy. That is money directly out of the state and local “coffers” for Wisconsin communities that we both know could use the money in this economy. I also buy tackle from many “made in Wisconsin” companies most notably Brovarney Jigs out of Wauwatosa. With the lack of national exposure many of your local businesses may move elsewhere to improve exposure on a national level.
My family and I also travel to Lacrosse, Lansing, and Minocqua frequently. During these trips I usually try to fish a derby in a local community. In the last couple years due to the refusal of national circuits to come to Wisconsin we have traveled to Kentucky, Tennessee and Missouri instead of to your great state. The resources you have available could be a tremendous boom to the local economies if Wisconsin became more “tournament friendly”. I urge you to consider my comments as well as those from many of local, regional and national bass fisherman- and make better use of what you have to offer in Wisconsin.
Thank you very much for your time,
