Brushy Creek saturday and Don Williams Sunday. It was COLDin the morning. 41 degrees saturday morning with a stiff north wind. Picked up three keeper on the north end of the lake early. Cloud cover burned off and the bite died instantly. Worst fishing condition on Brushy in my opinion is high skies. Just kills that lake. Panicked and left that area

. Should have stayed there. Ended up with 4 keepers that put us .2 lbs out of first. All fish came on crank baits. One shallow off of cover the rest suspended among tree lines. Second day was even tougher. Managed just one keeper each for me and my brother. Luckily they were both decent fish. His was 3.7 and mine went 4.6 (missed big bass by .14 lbs
). Ended up finishing first with nearly 17 pounds over two days (2nd place ended up with 11 lbs). We all struggled and it made for long days on the water. Water temps on Brushy started out at 47 on saturday and made it into the lower 50's. Water was gin clear on the southern end and slightly stained on the north end. Water temps on Don Williams were low 50's and stained.
