    Low Oil Sensor Part Number....PLEASE

    1999 Johnson 225 HO Carb J225HPLEEN

I have looked all over the parts catalog link above......and cannot find the low oil sensor that I need to replace.

My low oil horn goes off EVERY time I start the motor. My fishing partner is about to kill me if I don't fix this before the next tournament. Any assistance in the correct part number and what the job entails would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

It's not just the low oil sensor. You should replace the complete pickup assy that is in the oil tank. Unless the float is hanging up.

That's my problem.......I pulled the assembly part way out.....and can't tell which part is the float??? I'm assuming that it's the piece that runs between the 2 rods...........but I'm not sure. I tried to move It...but it didn't move.......it was at the bottom between the 2 rods???

Could I also unplug this low oil sensor???

You need part number 0176362. You can unplug the sensor. Remember when you replace the assembly to re-prime the VRO as the new pickup will come with the hose attached. The older pickups used to move up and down the rods but the new style doesn't. CM

Thanks CM...........I just purchased a new oil tank with all attachments. The new one has what looks like a separate float.....like you said.....the new ones don't have the float in between the rods.

    Thanks again
