I have a 2000 225 Johnson HO with a lightning gear case. The complete model number is J225HGLSSC and serial number is G04817051. Recently I blew the pinion gears in the lower unit and had a new lower unit installed. While the dealer had it I had him him change the fuel filter and do a tune up. I got it back last week and had to bring it back for a quick adjustment because it wasn't shift completely into forward. I finally had a chance to go back out today and give it a try. Went into gear fine and drove around slow for half an hour to break it in like the mechanic suggested. When I finally went to make a good run I was only able to get 5000 RPMs and a top speed of 54 on the gps. This is a big drop from around 5800-6000 RPms I use to get and around 67, 68 MPH. When I put hammer down it was very sluggish never even close to make a jump to get on plane. Reminded me of when I had my 17 foot tracker with a 25 years ago on take off. I treid 2 different props to see if that made a difference and it didn't. Motor didn't sound funny or make any funny noises but could tell it wasn't the same sound when the running a wot before. Anyone have any suggestions of something to look for or waht it could be?
Thanks
Rob
