    Light Weight Flywheel

I"m running a 225efi on a zx225 with a Phase II. Will this mod be worth it with a heavy load? Also what will this do on top end as far as RPM and speed?

I'm curious about some gains also. Anyone have some before after results?

Not one of the HT boys but my take on the fly wheel (and I want one) you will see a bottom end and mid range gain. I don't think that you will see any change on top or if you would it would be very very little.

I would also think that it will help with any hull.

Now if it is worth it or not that is up to you and what you want out of your rig.

Wayne is mine in the mail?

    Re: Light Weight Flywheel (spider1)

This mod will help out any weight hull I would think.. When I tested the prototype on my rig, it was absolutely unbelievable the difference it made.. Made the boat accelerate like crazy, I was turning a 32 performer 3 blade and it was decent with the stock flywheel, but after putting the lighter one on it was like putting a 28 on it... Top end it didn't make much of a difference (I think about 100 rpm increase), but it got there a bunch quicker.. For actual holeshot sec. increase and 30 to 60 mph increase and so on, I'm sure it is in the works for the Hydro-Tec fellas to do some real world testing.. From a seat of the pants standpoint, WOW about sums it up... I came back to the ramp with a HUGE smile on my face and Wayne says "well? how'd it do"... All I told him was he needs to take it for a ride and make sure I wasn't dreamin'.. He came back in with the same HUGE smile on his face..... They've got another real "kick ya in the shorts" upgrade here, couple this with some other H-T mods and apologize to your wives, cause you won't want to get out of your boats...

    Re: Light Weight Flywheel (blair)

Are there any reliability issues with this? I was wondering if the rods and crank would have any problems long term with the rapid acceleration? Sorry for all the questions I just want input before I step off the end of the plank.

No probably easier on the motor not having to turn the extra weight

    Re: Light Weight Flywheel (STROKEDYAMAHA)

+1 on what Strokedyamaha said.. The less weight something has to spin, the easier it can do it and the easier it is on the working parts... Obviously to a point, if stuff got too light then there would be issues, but this mod is just letting the motor run up quicker without having to turn so much rotating mass.. Give Wayne, Jon or Mat at Hydro-Tec a call, they will better be able to answer any questions, plus they are just a great bunch of people to talk with..

How about running higher R's? Will it allow that? Also, does it effect power output for your electronics?

    StrokedYamaha

I know your recommended this for FI models, But I'm seriously considering this mod for my 95 2.6L Prov with HT mods. One question, does the Flywheel have timing marks that need requires the flywheel to placed back in a exact location. Or is their a notch/slot that makes the re-install dummy proof?

Don't you have vids of your boat inmotion somewhere on the WEB?

Nice Vid. If I take my trolling motor off, I should be just as fast

I would like to hit 70mph just for one second. 68 is the best I've seen. Down river with a breeze.

Re: Light Weight Flywheel (Stepping Up)

I am thinking seriously about doing this for my 98 2.6L Phase II 200 VMAX. I might have to put off the new trolling motor for another year!

Maybe I can get a Phase II for my T-Motor?

There is core charge. They told me to ship my original and week turnaround. 95 ProV. I guess the older ProV's they use your flywheel as the templet.?????????
