Ok, the short version of this, I bought a 1984 champion super v 176 ( I think thats right) bass boat. It was only 500 bucks. The boat and trailer are pretty good, but it was missing the controls, fuel tank, external oil tank. And the Yamaha hanging on the back had not been run by the previous owner. He didnt know anything about boats, only used the trolling motor to fish with it. So far I have changed the spark plugs and looked the motor over, cant see any reason why it wont run. There is compression, and it turns freely with out the plugs in it. I also got a used 703 control unit on ebay. It didnt come with the shift and throttle cables. So, Today I figured out how to hook up the 703, I am not sure how to fit all the wires back into that thing. But I got it all hooked up to the outboard. It cranked over fine, and I used a spray bottle with 50:1 weedeater gas to get it started. I know this is the wrong gas, but lets just skip that part. I had it mixed and on hand so I went with it. I can only keep it running for 10 or 20 seconds cause I cant spary it fast enough, but it sounded good. So here is the fun part, can I run this thing out of a 5 gallon gas can with mixed fuel till I get the oil tank in the boat. or should I just keep the tank on the outboard full? Whats the best, and cheapest place to get the cables, and ends cause I dont have them either? And I can look at the manual for a 1999 yamaha 130hp on yamaha's website, how much difference is there between that and the 96 model? And any other ideas of what I should do let me know.

Thanks for any help,
Kenny
