HPDI's are very easy to start, cold weather, hot weather, cold engine, hot engine, it doesn't matter. If your engine is not starting easily something is wrong with it.

Glad to hear it was a easy fix.

    Like Charlie said ....... HPDI's don't care ...... they just crank-up.

You will run into that after the boat has sat for a long time. You must fill the VST with fuel. During times when you use it often, pumping is not necessary.

Sure would be nice to have one that starts easy. I have a 2006 250 hpdi that you have to cross your fingers to get to start on the initial crank. After the first time, just touch the key. HAd a sync - link, no help. What is the secret ? The only way I have found to get mine to fire up quickly on cold start is to crank it right before it goes into the water. Not good for the water pump no doubt but it does fire right up
