    Yamaha Ox66 Low Water Pressure

    I have a 1999 Ox66 250 run in salt water. Overheat alarm was going off so replaced the water pump and put it back in the water. Running good but no pressure at idle and only 12-13lbs at 5000 RPM. It does NOT overheat at all but any feedback on why the pressure is so low? Thanks

    Poppit valve may be clogged up.I think there is a post pinned at the top to show how to replace it.

    Ok, went from bad to worse. I did not have a chance yet to look at the valve (thanks for the tip) but took the boat out this afternoon and ran like a champ for a run of about 50 miles north at 4,000 RPM. Stopped, got a bite, and started back south with half a tank (25 gallons) left. Added some Ringfree and Stabil for the return trip. Motor would not go above 3500 RPM and sliggish at plane. Limped all the way back. Peg the throttle and the motor would bog. Stopped, shut off, wait for couple of minutes. Hard to start and then have to nurse it to 3500. Thankfully I have switched props before the run from a Hydromotive Quad IV OT 24 to a Mirage Plus 23 as I don't think it could have planed the QIV.

    This motor has been very reliable.....not sure what gives?

    check you fuel line, might be pinched and it is starving for fuel.

    fuel pumps would be next place to look, diaphram(s) could have hole in it.

    Fuel line has no obstructions and the pumps are new at the beggining of this season. Is it possible that the O2 sensor could have fouled this quickly and is causing the motor to run poorly through the operating range?
