Just thought I would post my last experience:

I took my 2007 Yamaha HPDI in to a Boat Dealer to have the lower unit oil changed and a minor skeg repair.

Upon arrival I was going over details with the dealer and the mechanic took his hands and spun the prop, and ask how long it had been like that.

I thoughtt he was talking about the busted skeg, and I told him it just happened..
I accidently drug it on the ramp.

He said he wasnt talking about the skeg, he was referring to the slack in the prop.
Little did I know that when it was manufactured, Yamaha installed the wrong thrust washer, which causes the prop to waller out. It will eventually quit!

I told him it ran fine, he said it wont for long.

They took pictures and sent to Yamaha and Yamaha replaced the whole lower unit and gave me a new prop!

Yeah, it took a couple of weeks to do, but at least we caught it in time.

I did purchase the extended warranty when I bought the rig, but Yamaha would have took care of it anyway. The never asked me about extended warranty.

I took my rig in for a skeg repair and wound up getting a whole new lower unit and a new prop. Plus saved $75.00 on skeg repair and oil change.

Thanks to Yamaha for standing behind their products!
