HPDI Clear Bowl Filter HELP

OK, So I am snowed in and decided to install new filters in motor. The VST Tank filter no problem thanks to the BBC instructions. But the one that seamed to be the easist, is not. So I took the clear bowl off and found that I had the wrong new filter and thought that I would reinstall the old one. WELL, I can not seam to keep the filter on the housing while tightening the lock nut, the filter then falls down and is moving around. Am I missing something? I have moved the o-ring a couple of times but does not seam to help. Any help would be appriciated.

You are missing a spring that is suppose to push up on the filter element in the bowl.

Thanks, I just checked the manual, and the on line link from the top and they do not show a spring.

Looking under the filter #14 it looks to sit on the sensor stem, the clip listed is for the top of the sensor. Am I missing it on the diagram ?

Ok, I know the earlier models used the spring but yours doesn’t…sorry.
Strange, is it just supported by the bottom of the bowl?

I know when i put mine on it's much easier to pop the filter on and then try to screw the bowl on... if i try the other way it's much more difficult. Perhaps your o ring is a little old and isn't holding the filter very well?

Had the same trouble. Pull the oring down a little then put the bowl inside lower cal with filter sticking up, push filter up and see if that doesn't hold it. If not get a new o ring.
