I am posting for a friend who does not have a computer.

He has a older 150 Yamaha 2 stoke, had the water pump changed 18 months ago, the thermostats have been removed (I'm not sure why). The hot engine alarm is sounding if he goes over 3200 or so RPM's. If he stops and idles it goes away. Sometimes it goes away if he shuts it down and then starts it back up. The shops are all two weeks to a month backed up for service.

I told him that his water pump's probably going bad, but he insists that it's peeing fine even when its' alarm is going off.....

Any ideas?????

Thanks in advance
Mike
