Throttle Question, any help is appreciated

Been fighting low rpms, raised the motor over an inch and a half, it got squirly, but didn't raise rpm's by more the a hundred. So still typically tops at 5400. I was told to check the throtle but have no real idea of what right looks like. Took the sprng off the hot foot and put it to wide open and the results are below. 04 VMAX 150.

Pull the air box and look at the butterflys. They should be wide open!

Was just talking to my buddy who's a dam good aute mech. He told me to do the same thing.

Results below, which makes me think there's either a problem, or I need to put a 22 or 21 pitch on this thing.

    K. Gonna have to live with it then. The manual for the OX66 says normal operation RPMS is 4500-5500 so I guess I'm doing right....

Is that your boat in the picture? Has it always ran like this? Tritons are good running boats with the right prop should be running 5600 to 5700. You should be able to run at least a 25. Are you sure you dont have a fuel pump problem or o2 sensor problem

Ok, does the throttle look like that when the hot foot spring is attached? On my hot foot, there's a throttle stop bolt behing the foot plate, is yours too far out, preventing the foot throttle from going all the way down to WOT?

Also, did you say what size prop you were running?

Come to think of it, if you're running a 25 pitch, you're probably close (if running a good amount of fuel in the tank and a tournament load).

I'm running a 23M Yamaha prop. The pic is taken with the spring off the hotfoot, but with the spring, I don't think there's a difference.

There's no stop bolt on this hotfoot.

Boat in the pic is the one. 98 TR-18, 2004 vmax.

Not sure about the o2 or fuel pump. It seems to burn plenty of gas, and it runs strong. When I raised the motor another 1/2 inch, the boat just plain scared me, didn't feel like it was in the water at all, and even a jet ski wake sent me soaring. If that's normal, I could stick with it.
