Very seriously considering a boat with this motor? Yamaha Pro V 200HP-1995

Any input would be appreciated--Has this been known to be a good dependable work hoarse of a motor? Will a compression check tell me if there is still some life in it?

Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Carbed motor, very dependable, if properly cared for. Get a good mechanic that you trust to check it out before you buy.
