buddy of mine bought new electronics lowrance hd 5 and hd 7 and would like to hook up to yamaha 225 vmax efi 02 year model so he can see rpm ,fuel management,etc. on the console unit is it pre wired like newer models or not ?

Sorry but only on the newer HPDI's.
Now that he has upgraded the electronics he needs to upgrade the motor.
