    OX66 Problem

I have a 2003 OX66 150 hp, I was running across the lake yesterday when all of sudden my motor starts to lose power. I get off the gas and come to a stop and turn the engine off. I wait a second and look at my gauges and everything and then try to start it again but can never get it fired back up. It just sounds like when your trying to start it with the kill switch not hooked up (which it was). I had good pressure in my gas bulb, no overheat buzzer, all gauges where normal, etc. I am going to try and get it in the shop sometime this week but just wanted to know what to expect.

Read the manual and check your oil injection jug and see if you are getting oil?

Sounds like a wire problem to me. Maybe a bad ignition switch or maybe a wire came lose going to the engine. Also, maybe a bad kill switch. Of course, I'm just guessing, but I'd start there since you didn't say anything about smelling gas.

Thanks for the info. I could smell gas when I would engage the choke and also tried to press the hot foot a couple times. But not a stong odor like it was leaking, to me it seemed like what it should smell like when trying full choke or pressing my hot foot.

There is a switch under the cowling on the back of the engine that operates the calibration of the oil injection. If the engine shut down because the oil injection alarm went off you need to reset this switch. Look in your manual or check with your dealer on how to reset this switch.

check wires on high voluume fuel pump , take off hood and see if you can hear the pump run, if not start jiggling wires till you do , sounds like a broken wire to the pump have hood off and turn key and listen for pump
