Any help/ideas here guys/gals would be greatly appreciated.
Running down the river yesterday and noted my tach guage (0-7000 stock Stratos guage) was pretty much pegged out with the needle straight down. Way past 7000. Everything was running/sounding normal. Engine did not sound over-rev'd, running MY normal cruising speed of 70-72 mph (gps). Water prez was fine (about 22). Everything normal except the RPM reading.
After a long no-wake zone, I noticed the guage shot way up to about 70 as I was getting up on step, and seemed to fluctuate allot, even though the motor sounded perfectly normal and was not fluctuating.
A bad guage? Bad sending untit? Or could there be a bigger problem?
