2004 Yamaha 225 HPDI

Hey y'all,
I have this posted on the Skeeter board as well but no responses. I have a good friend looking to possibly purchase a fish and ski that will seat 4 people. He's considering an 04 Skeeter SL210 with an 04 225 HPDI. The motor had a power head replaced in 2006 and also had an oil pump replaced due to a recall. I've owned several Skeeters but all had the OX66 EFI 225's. I don't know alot about the HPDI's. I believe 2003 was the first year for HPDI and have seen the older models did have some problems with power head failure. I was always a fan of Skeeter and thought this would be a great boat until I saw the HPDI. I just dont have the experience with it. Can anyone give me any insight, good or bad, on this model HPDI. Does anyone have own one? Any and all info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...

You're talking about a three year old engine that should be fine, but it all depends on the care given to it during those three years. If it wasn't broken-in correctly, or if it was abused, then who knows?

It seems like everything was done to it that would have corrected any issues from 2004.
