    200 HPDI WATER PRESSURE

When I first launce, my water pressure is good, until the motor heats up to about 125, then it drops by about 1/2. What would cause this? Thanks in advance.

    200 HPDI WATER PRESSURE

See my long thread about this on my 200 HDPI engine...

IF its not w pump or gauge...its the thermostat staying open due to the 88-95 degree surface water its pulling in...seems to be the issue with me...psi is okay for a few seconds and was better yesterday at tourney...she ran 74.9gps with no buzzer sounding and 12psi...in reality its probably 16-20psi or will be by late Sept...we pulled the p valve and it was clean...the w pump is 18 months old...gauge is late 2006.

Others in La. have posted the same thing about 4 months a year...water hit 95.4 during one T last month...wow!

I have noticed that the water pressure changes with lake temp and motor temp. When I go to move spots it might read 140 when I first crank it. My gauge wont read until it gets down to around 129.

I dont have a temp gauge on my HPDI but those temps sound kinda cool.I thought temps would be higher. The water temps down here are in the 90's so i figured the motor temps would be around 180 or higher.
You are correct about the psi vs. water temp, you will get more pressure when the water cools down.
