I just did a number of the skeg of my F150. Tangled with something that broke a chunk out of the rear/backside of the skeg (prop side) starting immediately below the cavitation plate about 3" long and 1" deep. Also did a number on the prop.
Couple questions:
1. How easy is it to fix and does it need to be fixed?
2. Right after doing this - I couldn't or wouldn't go over 40 mph because it was throwing a roster tail that it had never done before. Would this be caused by the chunk missing or the mashed prop?
3. The exhaust sounds louder - it started right after I did this.
Any input is greatly appreciated. What an expensive day.![]()
