I recently had two pistons replaced in my motor and was wondering the break-in prochedure for this. I was told by the mechanic that I should run at about 4,000 rpms for a whole tank of gas? Is this what I should be doing...or something else??![]()

I have always been told 10 hours running double oil. And to very your rpms every few minutes. 4,000 rpms sounds kinda high to me I have never gone over 3500 when breaking in my rebuilt motors. good luck and maybe some one who actually knows what there talking about will chime in LOL![]()
Double oil it and run it as though it is a brand new motor. 10 hour break in, he should have done the 1st hour himself, next few hours nothing over 4000 and vary the RPM's no more than 15 mins at one RPM. After 4 hours short burst to WOT but constantly vary RPM. After 10 drive it like you stole it and make sure the VRO is oiling. Mark the Oil tank and monitor the level. Have Fun!
