Darn impeller key wont come off! Need to replace oil seals, rings. Gear oil leak

I tried tapping it from the top. I tried pounding it from the top. I tried using a huge, flat wire cutter to grab the whole thing and started pounding it out, but man this key is so freakin stubborn.

Reason why I need to remove it. I need to replace the oil seals because when I changed the lower unit oil, I kind of put too much ( don't ask me how ) I was being stupid. Ok, well, I closed the top screw after oil was coming out and I pumped oil a few more times into the lower unit. Then oil started to come out of the other holes!!! So i think I broke a seal. Well, hopefully it just seeped through the seals since it doesn't take much pressure to push oil through it...i really hope.

Take a propane torch and heat the key up. Then take a chisel or big screwdriver and hammer and then pound on the top. I had to heat mine up pretty good the other day to change my impeller. Just be careful not to overheat the driveshaft. I held the torch to the end of the blue center part of the flame was ended on the key, about 3-4" away depending on the flame setting.

I had tried everything up to Vise-Grips and it didn't budge. I called my Yamaha mechanic friend and he turned me on to the torch method.
