Hi Guys, I'm kind of a newb when it comes to outboards, so excuse me if my explanation is kinda vague. Just hoping maybe someone could lend me a few ideas to check.

I started out that day fine, although I did notice my motor seemed a little harder to get running than normal that morning...usually turns over after maybe the second crank...it took awhile this morning. Anyways, after we got going it seemed fine. We fished one spot, then decided to move. After I shut down the motor, I noticed my tilt/trim wouldn't work. Went to start the motor back up, wouldn't do anything. I thought my starting battery may have been dead, so I swapped out all the wires over my my dual purpose battery, still nothing. Had my brother tow me in with his boat, got it on the trailer, and spent forever trying to figure out how to get the motor trimmed up so I could tow it home. Checked both batteries after the fact, and they are both good. I have no idea whats wrong. Any of you guys got any ideas on something I may check, or have overlooked?

This is a 03' G3 HP170, with a 90 Yamaha 2-stroke. Any ideas?
