    Bent Prop Shaft

    I just had my prop shaft replaced on a 2007 250 HPDI.

    602.xx to fix,,,,,WOW

    heres the break down
    prop shaft - 307.00
    seals - 22.00
    labor - 236.00 ---- 2.6 hours
    tax - 29.00
    credit card fee - 26.00 ... they passed the 3.5% to the customer now
    TOTAL + 620.00

    Chit. I'm taking mine to the shop tomorrow. Hope the price is better for a 97 - 175 If not, may have to make an insurance claim!

    went to run a new prop over the weekend. got back to the ramp and DAMN if the thing is not bent again. there is no way i hit anything. yamaha will get a call about this.

    I talked to my mechanic and he said that the 3.3 L's have had some issues with bent shafts due to the high amount of torque these motors produce, I have no way of proving this information though.

    evidently Yamaha knows somehting. they called me today and said they were putting a brand new lower unit on the motor. they really stepped up to the plate.

    Yea, Yamaha is hard to beat.... The mechanic went to call in parts on mine and they said they would have new one on the way.. In and out of the shop in four days!!
