Trim and Tilt Issue - Need Help!!

This weekend I went fishing and it sound like the trim and tilt battery was going down. It would hardly lift the motor uo to put it in the lake. However, as I ran the motor it seem to work better. I replace the battery and now it won't even do anything lift up or down, it just clicks. This tilt and trim is only a little over a year old. Any ideas on what I can check? The battery seems to be totally charged.
    Thanks

Your trim/tilt motor brushes are going BAD/or hanging up.Tap on the trim motor with a rubber mallet.or hammer. This will dislodge brushes, trim should then work.Take it in for repairs.

You are exactly right. We troubleshot it yesterday and discovered the same thing. It still goes back to not working after we tap it and it sets awhile. I ordered a new one today. Are they easy to install?
    Thanks

Do I get the brushes at auto store? As you can see, I'm a novice at this type of repair. Can a new one be installed easily?

If the brushes are worn out youll have to replace them, with the right ones, I had the same problem you did....where i could tap on the motor and it would work, took the cap off of the trim motor and found the brush springs were rotten, I went to autozone and bought a set of brushes for an alternator for an 84 gmc pickup 7.00 bucks I think and just used the brush springs If you need new brushes, get on e-bay and find a trim motor for a yammy and just replace it....IMO itd be alot easier....Im me if you need any help
