I have a 2001 200 vmax ox66 that is idleling rough. it seems to be burning very rich and i can smell gas in the exhaust. Also the primer bulb will not stay firm. when i get it up on plane it seems to run OK but when I slow down it idles rough again and will stall out sometimes if i take my foot off the hoot foot. if you guys need more info please let me know.

Check your low pressure fuel pumps. Check out the following thread http://www.bbcboards.net...85727 and look at the top of the message board for the solution in the sticky notes. Good Luck!
Thanks! I'll check the fuel pumps and fuel lines.
BE sure to unbolt them when you check them. Mine would not leak till I loosened the bolts.

I unbolted them and the bottom pump is leaking. I am going to go ahead and replace all three. Thanks a million guys! I will let you know if this fixs the problem.
It will fix it...My 250 OX66 has been having the same issue for a while...I replaced the 3 pumps yesterday and now it idles smooth and smokes a lot less than it did...Took less than 15 minutes to change them out... Make sure you get some small wire ties for the fuel hoses when you replace the pumps...It will take 6 ties...Easiest way to do this is unbolt all 3 and remove the top and bottom hoses, then take all 3 pumps out as a unit and replace them on a bench, then reinstall them as a unit...
Glad I could help! I replaced mine in January and it solved the same problem. But I think my partner has been pumping my primer bulb too hard because now 2 of the new pumps are blown. The engine would actually flood after fishing for over 1 hour, and would idle roughly. See http://www.bbcboards.net...85727 . I also had to increase the idle speed screw twice in the last month just to keep the rich motor running. I just replaced the pumps Wednesday, but got rained out yesterday, so no testing. My new technique is to pump the bulb until full of fuel and no more - and nobody touches it except ME! With the new fuel pumps, the bulb should hold fine between trips and not even need priming (my experience from January until April). Anybody else believe too much priming may be blowing the pumps?
yes it did! I just got the new pumps put on and hooked the water up to the motor. she fired right up a ran smooth. Thanks for the help guys!
