Yamaha 150 Vmax won't tilt up to trailering position

Help - my Yama Vmax 150 on my 97 Skeeter will not tilt up into the trailering position. The trim function is working fine but I can only get it to tilt up about 25-30 percent of the way. The rods start to extend and then stall. It would not go back down without manually releaign it with the screw on the side of the engine.

Could this just be fluid? My challenge is that I keep it on a lift and can't get at the fluid fill without figuing out how to manually lift the engine. Any ideas?

Two people make the job easy. Release the manual release screw (manual override). Two of you tilt the engine all the way up, flip down the support, lower the engine on to the support. Tighten the manual relief screw. Check the fluid level in the trim reservoir. Remove that cap slowly, there may be air in there.
