    Four strokes

Is there a separate board for Yamaha four strokes or is there not enough interest in the four strokes?

There a few here that run 4 strokes. I believe in the near future more interest will be generated in the larger displacement 4 stroke engines.

    Hey Fellers

I'm on my second Yama 4 stroke and would apprecaite a 4-stroke site. Ran
an F150 for 3 years and just got an F200. If the 200 is as good a machine as the 150 I'll be extra pleased and it seems to be. Anyone seeking info on either, let me know.

I will be either looking to re-power with a 4 stroke.....or........go out and purchase a new boat with a 4 stroke.

I'm interested if any of you Yamaha guys know of anyone running a 225hp 4 stroke or larger on a bass boat. Every time I try to get an answer from a dealer...........they try to push me into a 2 stroke! I don't care about being the fastest.....or being the lightest.......I just want TROUBLE FREE RELIABILITY!!!!! I want to be able to get to my fish........and then back to weigh-in without worrying wheather my motor will "pop" or not....or for that matter....when will it "pop".

If the Yamaha 225 & 250 4 strokes are as impressive as my Yamaha 4 stroke snowmobile.......I'd get one tomorrow!

Anyone running a big 4 stroke on a bass boat????

    BS

I personally havent driven the big 4 strokes on a bass boat, but I LOVE my F250. I have it on a 22' CC. Im like you, I dont want the extreme speed and the weight isnt an issue for me. The reliability of the 4 stroke is awesome. Dont underestimate the power of the newer 4 strokes coming out. The F250 has plenty of power and Yamaha has just released a new F225 sport with the variable timing like the F250 and a short shaft for bass and bay boats. Suzuki's 4 strokes are very strong and they also introduced a sport version with a short shaft and variable timing. Everybody cries about maintenance on the 4 strokes, they are similar to the DI motors on mainenance cost. If you are thinking about a new 4 stroke then take a good look at Yamaha and Suzuki. Do some research, you will be very impressed.

    Re: Four strokes (mcmarine)

I'm already impressed with Yamaha 4 strokes I own a Yamaha 4 stroke snowmobile..........best sled I ever owned! Power is unbelievable!

    That's why I feel the Yammy 225 should push a bass boat at a respectable speed...........say 61 - 65 mph.........but I'm having trouble finding anyone with a 225 4 stroke on a bass boat

I've seen a few bass boats with Verado's.........and they seem pretty fast.......but I'm leaning towards the Yammy because I've owned their sleds.

    Thanks

    BS

The F225 is fairly new and I expect we will be seeing more of them in the near future. I also expect speeds beyond the low 60's for sure.

I personally didnt get to go to the Ranger dealer meeting, but the guys from our place that did go said the new Sport model of the F225 was pretty impressive.
