I have a VZ225LTR, PID # 1004070, my pump linkage has 60V12 on it and the motor sticker says 09/05. If anyone can let me know if my motor needs to have the pump changed, i would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

The best way to find out is call your dealer and give him your Serial number. He may have to call Yamaha to check but then you would know for sure one way of the other without guessing.
I would do that, but my DEALER told me yesterday that there was no such thing as a recall on the oil pump and said he talked to yamaha directly. Then i go to their competitor and they print me out a copy of the actual tech bulletin. IMAGINE THAT. CAN YOU TELL I"M PISSED OFF !![]()

Just a little bit!!!! and can not blame you at all!!!
Can you take your boat to the other dealer? I would also file a complaint with the BBB and also with Yamaha and see how it like that!!!
From what I have read it looks like your pump is one that need to be replaced with the 60V13
Mine had the same 60V12 and it is on the list............

Your 60v12 needs to be replaced with a 60v13. Your dealer also needs to do a compression check and some other tests. I contacted Dawson Marine in Beaumont, Texas yesterday. They pulled up a 6-page bulletin with instructions requiring testing for any damage caused by over/under oiling by the pumps in question.
Does anyone know what the additional tests were??
