My tach for my 1999 150 VMax doesn't register at all. My voltage readings are as follows: grey wire-5.8volts and purple reads 14.8volts. Not sure what the readings should be and I am trying to figure out if it is my tach or not. Any help would be appreciated.

Is it a Yamaha digital tach? Does it go through it's test mode when you first turn on the key? (LCD flashes all digits...).

If its a Faria they have a lifetime warranty... mine went out, been there.

I have a Allison W/ a Yammy digital Tach and it reads 6300-6400 RPM's no matter if has a 24" or a 30" prop on it could it be bad. What is this test mode, how does it work and what does it do

Is this ture about a lifetime warranty on the Faria Tachs??? thats what I have on my Boat

Mine is acting up. It's a faria and when I called them, the customer service person gave me an R/A number and said to send it with a check for $26 and it will be fixed. The check is for shipping and handling. He said the turn-around time was about ten days.
