Why not use Yamalube? Should only be a couple more $$$ for some good oil plus you only change it once a year. Not much over a year.

The lower unit oil for your boat will cost around $12. Get Yamaha gearcase oil..
Use some type of synthetic....I use Alisyn "0" wieght oil and it's awesome stuff...
I am selling Amsoil Universal Synthetic Marine Gear Lube around here like hotcakes. So apparently its pretty popular.
