I think they will work OK.... I'd make sure you dont get one that racks up hours with the key left on... Make sure it will wire up for motor running hours only.

If you have the '07 digital gauges they record the engine hours automatically. Flip through the Mode button on the Tach and you'll find the hours pop up.

I put on a SenDec hour meter. easy to install and only runs when the spark plug fires it picks up inpulse from the plug wire. Two models available, I used the non-erasable. Call SenDec at 1-800-295-8000 or 315-986-1812. Good unit and not expensive.
Don't laugh as this works quite well- I purchased a lawnmower engine hour meter from Sears. THe lead wraps around the spark plug wire, and I stuck the meter onto the back of the engine with a piece of two sided tape. Has worked well and was cheap and easy. Over a year and not a problem.
