had to disconnect oil tank what is the best way to bleed the air out ?

Hi guys, had to completely remove my remote oil tank on my Yammie the other day to change out a bilge pumpand move the tank due to larger batteries. since I had to unplug the connector and the oil feed line I figure I will need to bleed the air from the system. did a search and the best I could find was leave the oil cap loose on the small tank located under the cowl. is this the best way or is there another ? thanks for all the input.

You can disconnect the line that goes into the primary tank and hit the emergency toggle switch (key ON) and pump the air out of the line that way. Just put the hose end into a Coke bottle or something so it'll catch the oil that comes out so it doesn't end up all over your motor. It doesn't have to be completely air free like a brake line or anything, since its just filling a reservoir tank. The more critical oil lines are the ones going to the oil pump, and there's a bleed screw on the oil pump itself for that.

thanks for info, saw the toggle switch and figured it would somehow work the pump. will have to pump out the oil into a container or maybe back into the remote tank, if it will reach.
