Just took the "baby" out of the garage for the first time this year and hooked it up to the hose to make sure everything was O.K. before I took it to the lake. I know that these motors only fire four cylinders when in neutral, but when I take it off idle, it won't rev up. If I give it gas very slowly, it will gain RPMs, but not like I remember it should. It sounds like bad fuel or fouled plugs! Buuuut Nooooo!

I slapped the old laptop on it and found that cylinders 5 and 6 would drop out if I pushed the throttle past idle (in neutral) leaving just #1 and #4 running! If I rev it in gear (carefully), all 6 light up like they should. (Cylinders 1, 4, 5, and 6 fire during idle)

I don't remember this happening before. Am I just getting old? Can anyone tell me if this is normal? It's not "throwing" any codes and everything looks normal using the YDIS. I just could've sworn it used to rev like a son-of-a-gun in neutral.

At this point, if it doesn't effect the way it runs in gear, I guess it's not much of an emergency. I'd just like to know if I have something going on under the cowl.

I love this forum, I read it a bunch. There's so much great information that I don't have to post any questions. The answers to my questions are almost always already there!

Thanks to everyone that's helped me and don't know it!!
