I have a 1978 Johnson 140 hp. There seems to be an electric problem. It will run at about 45 mph almost WOT - 6/8 or so open. At idle on the water hose, The top left and bottom right cylinders get almost constant fire. The bottom left and top right cylinders get fire of the same intensity, yet they are only about once every .5 seconds. I have replaced the coils, and the power packs. Still the same thing. I'm thinking perhaps it could be the stator. The motor idles well and is easy to start. I would think that it would have equal fire consistansy on all 4 cylinders - perhaps the less often ones fire more often as the motor opens up? Thanks for the help guys!
