    when to do a carb rebuild

    I have 1997 150 johnson.Engines running good.Have read many posts on carb rebuilds.Have never had a rebuild on these carbs.What would be the first sign that a rebuild was going to be necessary?Just curious.........Thanks PT

    Personally, I wouldn't worry if ya running the engine and all's well. If the carbs start acting up or leaking or it sits for an excessively long time then I would consider getting it done, usually 6 mos to a year with no stabil or BRP 2+4. The gurus may have a hours accumalated or years thing but I've never heard of it!

    The Jr. Mod is getting it! Ocaisnoally look at the carb bowls and check the bb's at the base and see it they are weeping . Either seal or replace the bowls as needed. Big problem is carb rebuilders over torque the base screws and warp the bowls.
