i have a mariner 150 that i have noticed lately at low speed it wants to occasionally surge...sort of briefly wants to speed up..then slow down...do you think the carbs need a kit put in them...what should the carb kits cost me? or do you think it is electrical...any ideas would help...the boat runs fine at wot...dont notice it at all...thanks

It could be an motor problem or it could be your prop. I have had some motors surge at low speeds due to the prop venting/slipping with it slow in gear. Do you notice any difference with different trim angles?...... Sherm

My 2004 200 EFI 3.0 does the same thing. Surges at lower speeds not at higher WOT speeds. I have a 23p Lazer II prop on my motor. What is the fix?

This might sound weird but check the spark plugs. If one or two are partially fouled it can cause the same problem. Happened with my OptiMax.
