Reply Merc. Classic 115 bogging
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I bought a 2003 Mercury Classic 115 2003, that boggs and hesitates as the engine passes through the 1900 - 2100 rpm range. It starts well and runs very well after it gets past the 2100 rpm range. I think it has the original plugs, could that be something to look at? Thanks for any help.

I have a 2003 125 Classic. Sounds like the hesitation is just as the other two cylindars are kicking in. I am no Merc mechanic but I know there is an accelerator pump for the carbs to those two cylindars (3&4) designed to prevent that. If the plugs are not the cause I would bet is something to do the adustment on the carbs for 3 & 4. I have yet to have that problem mine accelerators smoothly, if anything I get a noticable surge of power justr as the other two cylindars are kicking in.
