If an engine has accumulated 600 hours on the computer, and 200 hours since it has been refreshed... are the chances of it blowing up soon likely?
This might be a silly question but I'd like to know the reliability compared to my former XB... that probably had that many hours on it...
I dont mind paying for gas if it is dependable...
Dependability should be very similar.
ACTUAL engine run hours are just a "relative" item. What's far more important is HOW THE ENGINE WAS CARED FOR, TREATED, AND RUN DURING those engine hours.
I've seen similar engines run for THOUSANDS of hours with no major problems- and I've seen them TRASHED in under 10 hours when not cared for or run properly.
A Leakdown Test is a good measure of the engine's overall health.
