Don, sorry i actually sent you a message but thinking now i should have just posted it and yo can reply at your convenience.
Recently i bought a 2000 basscat Jaguar with 250xb and after 6-8 outings of running perfectly we were fishing really shallow and when motoring out i think i picked up some crud clogging water outlet. debris from outlet was removed and was pissing water. Right after that while getting up on plane the motor was being really sluggish around the 1600-1800rpm mark, but when it crests 2000 it seems to run OK for a bit. Running at over 5000rpms i have had the engine cut out completely and drop down to and idle. I was really wanting to know if it's possible for clogged thermostat or something like that to shut down the engine. I just recently ran across a forum that said poor water flow could cause the engine to shut down even though it is streaming out of water outlet.
Compression OK. Coils and powerpack OK. Had fuel pressure at rail checked while the motor was shutting down. stayed steady at around 34psi i think it was. New fuel lines from tank to fuel pump. New filter on starboard side. Run premium only. Injectors were professionally cleaned and inspected running 98% before and after.
I am told that there is not much in the line of electrical or fuel left to check (i'm sure i forgot to tell you things that were checked but this is all off top of my head)
I can get the serial number if that is required but is in storage so it's not right in front of me.
Thanks
