anybody try the Verado 250 Pro on a bassboat (Ranger 521) compare to a 250 Pro XS speed and fuel, not sure which motor to put on my next Z-521.

I haven't seen a head-to-head test on the two engines with that particular hull.
Might also want to ask on the Ranger Boats forum.![]()
Just a guess... very close, with the Opti having a very slight edge due to weight. The features and smooth performance of the Verado are REALLY hard to overlook, however!![]()

shoot an im to hondaray. He has a verado on a Phoenix921.
I have a 250 verado on a 21hp. Speed and fuel consumption is about the same as far as I can tell. VERY quiet, very smooth, and the hotfoot and throttle are both digital, so they are extremely smooth as well. It also has power steering like your car instead of hydraulic steering. Good motor!!
a friend of my has a 275hp Verado on a Nitro Z9
all I can say is wow, the boat is soo quite, you barely hear him flyin by you on the lake.
I understand it is very fast, but I kinda need to hear it to believe we are going fast. LOL -![]()
