    Water in Lower Unit

HELP.... I was changing my lower unit gear lube today and found my lower unit full of water with just a little bit of gear lube in it. What could have caused this problem?

I would like to post a picture to show what it looked like but, not sure how to post a picture. Any help with picture as well?

Pull your prop and look for fishing line wrapped around the shaft

Follow BOTH of the above recommendations.

Additionally- you need to IMMEDIATELY refill the gearcase with lube. It's had water in it- and if you leave it dry, INTERNAL COMPONENTS WILL RUST RAPIDLY.

Highly recommend you get it in to your local Authorized Mercury Dealer for testing/repair ASAP.
