    LIFTING MOTOR

    Can anybody tell me the thread size and pitch in the flywheel where a lifting ring would be used on a 2006 merc 225proxs

    PLEASE don't try making anything to accomplish this. It's simply not worth the risk of getting hurt, or dropping your engine.

    Part# 904551 lifting eye is the CORRECT tool.... and it's really not that expensive.

    Totally agree with Don, somethings are not worth the risk associated with things like this . Just the thought of a powerhead or complete outboard dropping to the floor or on someone is just unthinkable............. This is where the right tool for the right job applies....
