    smartcraft monitor going off

on my 2003 optimax 225 non stop short beeping
I was running in rough water and trimmed down so not at full throttle when it went off. I immediatly came off plane and shut it down.

smart craft shows oil pressure icon, engine icon, and alarm icon blinking

I shut off the engine and then restarted beeping comes back at idle after a moment
I thought maybe it was low oil in the tank. oil tank on engine is full

when I got it home I filled the remote tank and started engine on hose. same warning

I visually checked all the oil lines
engine starts and idle fine but i immediatly shut it off when alarm starts
My dealer is several weeks behind right now

Is there a trouble shooting process I can do myself?

Re: smartcraft monitor going off (AreTheyBiting)

Likely a low oil level warning (for the ENGINE mounted oil tank).

This tank must be 100% full of oil, with ABSOLUTELY NO AIR SPACE PRESENT.

To properly bleed, see the following post:

    http://www.bbcboards.net/zerot...esent

If the problem persists AFTER bleeding, try this ONLY for diagnostic purposes (do NOT RUN THE BOAT THIS WAY):

-Disconnect sensor connector at engine mounted oil tank.
-On HARNESS side, jumper between the terminals.
-Start engine on flush attachment, see if warning persists.

WARNING PERSISTS: See your dealer. DO NOT run the engine again until addressed.

WARNING CEASES: Replace OIL TANK and SENSOR. Oil tank must be bled, and OIL PUMP PRIME SEQUENCE COMPLETED after tank replacement.

if it wont fill per Don's post, you could have damaged oil lines from the tank to the engine....

i experience this on my last boat, something ate the oil lines up, they looked to be chemically burnt, and the gas line was swelled up...all of this was inside the rigging hose from boat to motor.
