Don I have the level 1 mercmonitor. Some times it is very hard to see unless you look at it from the side. When it is hard to see it seems that is does not make any difference if the sun is in front or behind me. Other times I can see it with no problems with the same sun position.
I have the contrast and brightness set to where I can see it best and that stays put.
When I can not see it the screen is just black.
Any ideas???
Just a thought but polorized sunglasses can make these screens very hard to read, also the regular glasses that darken in sunlight can add to the difficulty reading lcd screens.
Thanks but that's not it. My regular glasses do not darken and I did not have my sun glasses on. But I do know what you mean.
I could see my Lowrance gauges without any problem.

Well the last two times out it has worked perfectly. I guess the SOB is waiting until June when the warranty will be out for it to bit the dirt!I will have the camea in the boat just in case.
On the plus side I a wanting the level 2 instead of the level one which is what I have now.
