Sorry this is not directly related to this post but it may help on your way to Big Lake. Cormie's, Lake Charles, LA on Big Lake Road is a convenience store and they have NON Ethanol gas as reported. Also a pressure wash station, and the best chicken kabobs and bread pudding in America. You can also get a license there if you need it. It's worth the stop even if you already have your gas!
