ETEC90 installed Mon, boat picked up Tues, rock caught Wed, rock cooked Thurs

The plan for the week is this, a new 2004 ETEC 90 gets hung on a 2004 Sea Chaser 1800 on Monday, I pick the boat up on Tuesday, we fish for rock on Wed and cook the rock and turkey on Thursday. It does not get much better than this.

I have a few questions about my new ETEC 90. The dealer installing it says not to use the XD100 because not every dealer carries it and if you are in a remote place, which I do tow to some far away locations, I could be in trouble. My concern is the low tempature flow of the XD30. Can I mix the XD100 and XD30 at a 50/50 mix to improve low tempature flow. The motor will be set to the non-XD100 setting.

How long should it be stored before winterizing. The max I have it set is 4 weeks between use during the winter months?

    Thanks

Your dealer needs some education. Program for XD-100 & by a few gallons. You will not need oil until late next year.

My opinion - use the XD-100. I have the 75 e-tec and just posted a 4 month report. Not hard to figure that you can carry a spare gallon of XD-100. Besides, look at the benefits and it far outweighs anything the dealer tells you. Cold starts, cleans the internal guts as you run, less oil usage. What is there not to like. Even if you figure in the expense I have to believe in the long run it will more than pay for itself. Read past posts here and I think you will come to the same conclusion.

XD100 for sure. Like stated purchase a spare gallon. You will not be buying oil like your old 2 strokes.

Re: XD30 in an ETEC? Should you do that Rusty?

I was not aware XD30 was even recommended to run in an injector motor...

You can run any TCWIII rated oil.

Not the best choice but you can run it.

Go with the XD100, I ran it from the start and had the emm programed after the breakin was done, I'm guessing I put 35(best guess) or so hours on it and only used about 1/2 gallon. Does this sound about right Moderators?

Wow... When great stuff like XD50 and XD100 is out there my eye never even wanders to the XD30 or the "Fred's Pretty Good TCW3" bottles! Thanks.
