    Going to the Diamond Drive?

I am thinking about making the drive to Little Rock to watch the elite BASS tourney. I've never been to one so I thought this would be a good opportunity. Just was wondering if any of y'all are going? Im still kicking the idea around of bring my boat down. Id like the watch Mike I., KVD and Edwin E. Plus I've never fished the Arkansas river. What do y'all think?

I think it would be a blast. I would love to Marshall the event, but I don't think I'm gonna be able to do it that weekend. Still up in the air

They fill up pretty quick....you can register as soon as they open registration. Seems to be a fun thing....I just don't have the extra time off (fishing my own tournaments) to do it....

Re: Going to the Diamond Drive? (wildkat7)

Chased 'em around at the Legend's tourney a few years ago as well as the last Diamond Drive on Dardanelle. It's a blast following the guys around as a spectator boat. Planning on doing it again this go round.

What I'm curious about is - it always seems that most gather around a couple of key areas. I doubt they'll be staying in the Little Rock pool and most will be either locking up or down. I can see where the field will probably group in Case Bar, Brodie, and PB Harbor with some going north to fish the Maumelle rivers or Fourche La Fave river below toad suck L&D. Wherever they go - it'll be fun to watch...

What could be interesting is - since the Mississippi & Arkansas have had so much flow the past month or so - the barge traffic is backed up at every port and will probably be heavy playing catch up. There will probably be a lot of folks get caught in the lock system if they try to double lock and get caught behind the traffic. May be some folks eliminated making it back late to the weigh in....

    Re: (timmee73)

I registered to be a marshal also, I'm in as an alternate. Guys at BASS told me they always had a few back out, so hopefully I'll get to be in a boat. You are right that you must register early. I registered early in January, probably 2 weeks after they opened registration, and still I'm an alternate. You must really get in on this the day it opens up. If they fish next year here (or anywhere close) I will probably register ASAP. I had to make sure that I could switch vacation days to be available to do it this year.
