Life is made up of years that mean nothing, and moments that mean it all!!!!!!!!
How do the Hogs expect to win constantly when they don't play defense? Terrible defensive principals being taught at Arkansas. Their coach is in over his head, even in the less than average SEC.

I thought I would be on Easy Street by now but somehow I missed the off ramp!
Think the biggest issue right now is the Razorback Foundation doesn't have the money to replace him with anyone worth hiring and has been trying to keep the faithful under muted protest w/ next season's recruiting class coming in. With what we've paid buying out Heath & Nutt, and Petrino's new contract, they're tapped out. The money isn't flowing into the University fast enough to be able to buy a solid performer that could move the program forward.
Don't know that's going to be the case now. Last night's "5th Qtr. Post-game show" on The Buzz, was not at all complementary. In fact Rainwater said he didn't think that we'd be able to win but maybe 2 more games this season. Pat Bradley all but tore them down on all of the principles they don't have. None of the "talking heads" have been willing to buck the university, but now they're peeling off to keep their own credibility instead of being the typical "homers". Can hardly wait to hear Rick Schaeffer try to defend the performance this afternoon. If he peels off - it will only be a matter of time.
I have to think that Long & Broyles are doing all they can to bankroll dollars to replace Pelphrey. He won't go anywhere till they do - then he's history. I wish them nothing but success in their fundraising efforts.
I remember when I drove 150 miles to Fayettville in the winter of 1994, on solid ice, took 6 hours. Just to see those hogs play LSU.
Last night, I could not force myself to watch it. When enough people stay at home and empty out Bud Walton, they'll replace Pel with somebody that can actually "Keep" his team, and not lose them.
See ya, HatfieldHog
I turned it off....it's just gross now. Play some damn defense for the Love of God! Opie Taylor can't coach, end of story. I Can remember the days in Walton arena when there were 20k fans and it was so loud you couldn't hear yourself think. We can't win on the road, can't win at home( I know we have always had trouble beating Mississippi State at their place) but we are horrible, and these are his players that he recruited. Cmon Long fire him, you can't hire worse, at least we could hire somebody that acts like they have been there before....I feel better, sorry for the rant.

You bring up some interesting points about the "talking heads".
I was watching THV (Sorry Jeff) the other night, and Wes Moore even closed the sports segment with what was basically a vote of no confidence for John Pelphrey. I've decided that the only way I can voice my opinion and it count is just to pretty much boycott the games. If they cant sell tickets, get tv viewers, or radio listeners, then they'll have to do something.

The media outlets all have relationships with the university - and those relationships equate to ad dollars. It's almost like the sportscasters have to walk in lockstep to maintain access - and what is a sportscaster without access - essentially unemployed. Just look at how Chuck Barrett was rewarded for staying in line vs. Wally Hall who was always anti on Nutt & Heath. "The Buzz" now airs the games exclusively - KARN's out. Chuck's the voice of the Hogs now. It's a clear message sent from the University. There were much better voices for play announcement - Chuck carried the water and didn't pi$$ off the hill. He's the golden child now.
Now that the writing's on the wall as to Pelphrey's future - see how long it takes as the announcers peel off one at a time and start reporting that the emperor has no clothes. Evidently the hill is getting the message and it's only a matter of time. Revenues are dropping and apathy is the next phase. It is truly a dollars game, and the power's that be will start to weigh their options. The economy in NW Ark isn't great and the Razorback Foundation isn't seeing the kind of contributions they've been used to. I'll bet right now they're turning up their efforts to get funds in with an eye to buying out Pel's contract and getting a replacement. Jeff Long will get us a solid coach and is probably making back-channel contacts to find interest now. When the dollars balance - Pel will be gone.![]()
Shakin in my shoes Sam! That is one bad azz kitty there!
I woulda been happier keeping Heath than trading for Pelphrey! I mean at least it seemed like the players respected and liked him! I just hope change comes before next season cause if not I may have to boycott Hog B-ball!!!
I like Pel, but I have lost confidence in his ability to lead the HOGS.
As far as boycotting the Basketball team I WILL NOT do that, but
on the other hand I will not go out of my way to watch a game until
things change.

Really? Keeping Heath was not the answer.

Maybe one reason Altman DIDN'T take the job after Heath, ya think? Potential loss of scholarships from not meeting NCAA guidelines for grad rates..........
